23

23
A few degrees changes everything.
A few degrees more burns the cookies.
 A few degrees change puts you miles from your destination.
A few degrees will change the warm to cold.

The axis shifts the earth from season to season.
23.44, that is it, but it changes so much.
The 23 brings snow.
The 23 makes the birds go south.
The 23 makes the trees sleep.
The 23 makes the day short, and the sun feel dim.
The 23 piles ice and snow on the warm summer ground.
How does such a slight change
These few degrees effects everything.

Moroni's Promise

Moroni's Promise
This is a true story.
It is true because I have sources that say this story is true.
This source is this story.
This source can be trusted, because it has be proven true.
This is a true story.

Read my story.
Think of what it says.
Think of if it is true.
If you find it is true, you are right.
If you think it is wrong, you are wrong.
Start at the beginning and try again.
When you find it is right, you can tell others how right it is,
because it works every time.
Oh, those who say it doesn't work?
They haven't followed the method of trying again.
And again ∞ .
How can they say it is wrong if they have not follow the method?

This story is true,
I promise,
and that's all that matters.

I Grew up in the mormon church. I was baptized at age 8. I "recieved" the priesthood at age 12. I devoured the tales and ideas until i was 15. I started to realized that there were no real ways to "know" that these things were true, at least without faith. Faith is a flawed concept. So religion is bogus.
I officially left the church a few months ago when i turned 18, thus not needing a parent to sign for me. I am glad that i left. I wrote this poem to illustrate how people in the church offer this system to know if it is true. But it is a closed system with only one way out. Assuming that they follow the system the individual will "find" that the church is true. But the system is horribly flawed.
I am an agnostic atheistic, humanist. :) .

Stand up for the rights of others.

First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
("First they came ..." Pastor Martin Niemöller 1892–1984)

I hope to see at least two changes in current legislation take place in my life.

Right now we have a current legislation of "separate but equal" for gays in the sense of marriage. "you can have a civil union, but not be married" sounds a lot like "you can sit on the ground....., but you can't sit in this chair next to you" OR "you can go to school with other people like you, but you can't go to school with me". There was Brown vs. Board of education that gave abolished segregation of blacks and whites and i am looking foreword to the legalization of gay marriage.

We currently have a legislation that makes it illegal for individuals to possess marijuana. We deem that it is too dangerous for individuals to use, as with other drugs. Skydiving is dangerous. Should we make skydiving illegal?? If someone desires to use a substance to change their state of mind, are aware of the risks, and are not hurting anyone else, they have the right to do so. I want to see marijuana legalized.

First they came for the gays, and I did not speak out—because I was not a gay;
Then they came for the drug user, and I did not speak out—because I was not a drug user;
Then they came for the business owners, and I did not speak out—because I was not a business owner;
Then they came for the Iranians, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Iranian;
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I think this also applies readily towards war. Everyone has their opinion that is justified in their own mind. They are right. In this sense, nobody is wrong in the world. When everyone is right, they decide that they must stand strong in their position. They cannot compromise, they revert to force and violence. Everyone looses at this point. We need less soldiers in this world and more diplomats and ambassadors. Compromise is the key. War is always a lose-lose situation, always.

First they came for the gays, and I spoke out—even though I was not a gay;
Then they came for the drug user, and I spoke out—even though I was not a drug user;
Then they came for the business owners, and I spoke out—even though I was not a business owner;
Then they came for the Iranians, and I spoke out—even though I was not a Iranian;
Then they came for me—and the gays, drug users, business owners, and Iranians spoke out for me.
"They" never defeated us.

Defend the rights of others.

One with the world. Arms raised. Estatic.

I am in a recreational class that goes out and does learning more in the real world, and less in the classroom. We went out to a beautiful place, where everyone became good friends with each other, while having a good time, while throwing in a school lesson once in a while. We were there for the weekend. C.J. was having a pretty good time. This is him.

Into the dark distance

I edited this pic in photoshop. I was going down from Sundance canyon last summer with my buddy125 scooter. I decided to take a picture. Sometimes our future is kinda like this: It just goes somewhere, you don't know where.
Into the Dark distance.

Why is it so cold?

For Unified(Rec class) we were supposed to go spend some time out in a wild area. Some of the other kids were complaining because of the cold weather, despite their lack of preparedness.
So when me and my sister went out to spend time in our area, we decided to mock some of the whiners.
That's me.

How to donate your plasma

Donating your plasma is a win-win situation for everybody. You go in, donate your plasma that goes for life saving medications, and applications, while getting paid $25-$35 dollars.
The center will pay you for your time, not the actual donation due to federal laws.
So how do you do it?

1. Find a donation center; check your local phone book, go online, or go to a center you are already aware of.
2. Ask what you have to do to get screened. The policies of each center will vary, but will include some positive identification, proof of address (a utilities bill usually will cut it) and screening.
3. My center gave me a appointment card that was a few days later.
4. Get pre-screened. I went to the appointment and they do a few tests, you fill out a question-air indicating what medications, noting if you participate in any high risk behaviors that would disqualify you from donating. They also will write down any tattoos and piercing you may have. Urine test, blood test. Write down weight, height, take picture for your file.
5. You passed. Congrats.
6. You can now get screened. They will give you a AIDS bulletin. This informs/reminds you of high risk behaviors. You go into a room, they take a very small blood sample by pricking your finger. They place it into a centerfuge and spin it around, then measure your protein levels, and hematocrit. They will ask you several questions , in which you indicate that you have not participated in any of the behaviors that make your plasma unfit for donation. They will measure your blood pressure, your pulse and body temperature. If you fall in between normal ranges you are able to donate.
7. Wait to donate.
8. Donate plasma. You will sit/ lay down. The technician will sterilize the area on your arm, place a cuff on your upper arm. They will insert the needle. You will be instructed to squeeze a object to keep the blood flowing.
-The blood will flow into a bowl in the plasma machine. It will be spun around and the blood cells and the plasma will separate due to different densities. The plasma will go into a bottle , while the blood cells will stay in the bowl. After all of the plasma has been spun out, the blood will return to your body. This is one cycle. You will begin to pump more blood and plasma into the machine. Return. Pump. There will be 3-5 cycles. You will not lose nearly any blood, as it is returned. The place the plasma into a big freezer. They will remove the needle, put a bandage on it, and you will be paid.
9. Yay ! you did it.
You donated plasma, and got some extra cash for it!

You will only have to be "examined, and fill out a questioneer once". Next time they will just measure your vital signs, take the small blood sample, and ask you a few questions.
The process generally takes me 2 to 3 hours each time that i donate. At my local plasma donation center, they have televisions with a movie playing for the entire time.

-Watch movie, donate plasma, make money. :)
